Our story

A place for celebration

Mafi began with a simple belief: in Adama, the best moments of life — graduations, homecomings, Sunday afternoons — deserve a table worthy of them. Climb the stairs of the H&H Building and the city softens; what remains is the scent of berbere, the smoke of the grill, and a room built for gathering.

Our kitchen keeps two fires burning. One tends tradition — doro wot simmered slowly, injera draped over the mesob, coffee roasted and poured in ceremony. The other feeds a younger Adama: our Special Burger, roasted chicken with crackling skin, fajitas that arrive still singing from the pan.

Quick lunch or long celebration, one branch or the other — every guest is met the same way: as someone worth cooking for.

“Two fires, one table — tradition on one side, the grill on the other.”

The one Adama's food creators keep filming — double-seared beef, house sauce, a soft toasted bun.

Grill
Golden roasted chicken with herbs

Roasted Chicken

Slow-roasted over the fire until the skin crackles — rested, carved, and gone in minutes.

Grill
Skewers of grilled marinated meat with fries and tomatoes

The ritual

Jebena buna, poured the old way

Every celebration at Mafi can end as it should — green beans roasted before you, the jebena set to the coals, three rounds poured in their proper order. Ask your server for the coffee ceremony.
